Get up to €12,500 towards your NIBE heat pump
The SEAI heat pump grant almost doubled on 3 February 2026. As NIBE Partner Ireland, Unipipe provides the heating design and technical paperwork your installer needs to claim it.
Supplying and supporting NIBE heat pumps in Ireland for over 26 years.
Get your SEAI grant approval before any work starts. Work begun before approval cannot be grant aided. Once you receive your offer, you have 30 days to accept it.
One grant, made up of three parts
You apply once, choosing "Heat Pump System". SEAI works out which parts you qualify for based on your home and your installer's design.
Heat pump system
For supplying and installing the heat pump itself.
Central heating upgrade
For new radiators or underfloor heating, where your design shows they are needed.
Renewable Heat Bonus
When the heat pump replaces an oil or gas boiler, solid fuel, or electric storage heating.
The grant cannot be more than the total cost of the works. If your works cost less than the maximum, you receive the cost of the works.

Replacing an older heat pump? If your existing heat pump was never grant aided by SEAI, you can get up to €6,500 (€4,500 for apartments) to replace it. The Renewable Heat Bonus and central heating grant do not apply in this case.
Check these four things first
- Your home was built and occupied before 2021.
- It has an MPRN, the 11 digit number on your electricity bill.
- You are the owner: owner occupier, landlord, holiday home owner, company or owner management company, registered charity or Approved Housing Body.
- Your home keeps its heat well enough for a heat pump. See below.
No technical assessment needed. Sign the SEAI Self-Declaration Form and upload it with your application.
You need a technical assessment, unless a valid BER shows a Heat Loss Indicator (HLI) of 2.3 W/K·m² or lower.
Six steps from quote to payment
This is the route when you apply yourself. Your installer and Unipipe handle the technical side for you.
- You
Choose an SEAI registered installer
Unipipe can recommend SEAI registered installers that cover your area. Get quotes and ask for a written contract with prices, timings and warranty.
- You and your assessor
Confirm your heat loss
Book a technical assessment, or complete the Self-Declaration Form if your home qualifies without one.
- You
Apply to SEAI and wait for approval
Apply online (most offers issue in minutes) or by post. You need your MPRN, dwelling type, build year and your installer's name and ID.
- Installer and Unipipe
Design and install
Your installer works with Unipipe on the heat loss calculations, heating design and NIBE product specification, then installs the system.
- You
Get a post-works BER
A registered BER assessor rates your home after the works. A €50 grant is available towards this.
- You and your installer
Claim your grant
Return the signed Declaration of Works, Heating Design Sheet, Eco Design data sheet and Request for Payment. SEAI pays in about 4 to 6 weeks.
You have 8 months from your grant offer to complete the works and claim. If you receive more than €10,000 in grants in one calendar year, SEAI also needs a Tax Clearance Certificate.
Prefer someone else to manage it all? An SEAI One Stop Shop applies for the grant for you, manages the full upgrade and takes the grant off your bill upfront. Unipipe can recommend One Stop Shops that fit NIBE heat pumps.
